Here I go, one more time…

I heard that blogging is still popular. According to Medium:

–55% of content marketers prefer creating blog posts.

–Wordpress.com blogs have “409 million people reading 20 billion pages a month.

–Wordpress.org platforms “43.2% of all websites on the internet.”

However, what people aren’t checking out nowadays are general-interest, journal-esque blogs “without offering substantial value, insights, or unique perspectives to a broader audience have largely fallen out of favor.” Or blogs that don’t offer specificity and expertise in a particular area.” Or are too SEO-focused or “low-quality affiliate marketing” blogs. Or refuse to engage with the audience. Because, you know, the attention economy and eyeballs and needing money and whatnot.

What I can guarantee is this blog will definitely have a unique perspective: mine. And what this blog will be about is about my funky corner of the world, where I drop off my creative pops, be it a piece of writing, a video, or some handicraft I might or might not sell.

As the title of this blog is called, it’s about being “funky &,” which keeps open what I’ll post here.

There, 1st post done.

More importantly, here’s me, posting this photo I took of a monarch butterfly last fall. I’m still awed that I was able to capture the texture and tactility of the wood and the wings. My biggest goal with my photography is to capture tactility. I want people to want to touch the object, not just look at it.
